A single mother is considered a woman who:
is not married;
the child's birth certificate does not contain an entry about the child's father;
or the record about the father is made in the prescribed manner at the instruction of the mother (that is, from the words of the mother);

another woman who raises and supports the child herself.
You can get state aid on the Diya portal. For this you need:
log in to the Diya portal;
go to the "Services" menu - "Aid for a child of a single mother or father" (https://diia.gov.ua/services/dopomoga-na-ditinu-odinokij-materi-abo-batku) and submit an Application for the appointment of assistance ;
fill out the application and declaration forms;
check the formed statement and declaration;
sign the application with an electronic signature;
After that, the application will be sent to the social protection body, and the notification about the result of the review will be sent to the personal account on the Diya portal or to the applicant's e-mail.
Having submitted an application in this way, there is no need to apply to the social protection body. If it is not possible to apply for assistance online, you can apply to the social protection authority in person or submit an application by registered letter.
You can issue a tax payer's card, make changes (change of surname or first name, etc.) to the TIN or get a duplicate at the DPI at the place of residence or at the place of income. You need to contact the tax inspectorate. The deadline for issuing an identification code or duplicate, reissuing or making changes to the card is 5 days. The service is provided free of charge.
You need to have valid travel documents with you, if possible.
However, the absence of travel or medical documents (vaccination certificates, a test for COVID-19) will not be an obstacle to entry into the territory of Latvia for citizens of Ukraine.

for persons who have biometric passports, border control will be carried out. Persons with other travel documents and without a valid Schengen visa will be issued visas;

In accordance with the Law on the State Budget for 2024, the subsistence minimum for children under the age of 6 is UAH 2,563. For children aged 6 to 18, the subsistence minimum is UAH 3,196.
The minimum amount of alimony per child cannot be less than 50% of the subsistence minimum for a child of the appropriate age. This is stated in the Family Code of Ukraine.
