The Family Code provides for the possibility of reducing the amount of alimony established by a court decision or an agreement between parents, at the request of the payer, in the event of a change in his financial or family status, deterioration of health and other circumstances specified by the Code.
Here is an example of alimony reduction situations:
the payer of alimony is a person with a disability of the I or II group, as a result of which he needs additional expenses for treatment, care, maintenance;
the alimony payer started a family and had children;
loss of job and inability to find a new one with the same level of income;
the child for whom alimony is paid is the owner of property that brings income and the need to pay alimony in the amount that existed before has disappeared;
the alimony payer must financially support other family members (father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, etc.).
the payer of alimony has a very high income, from which a very large amount of alimony is charged, which many times exceeds the real needs of the child.
