The Parliament is actively working on improving the draft law on strengthening mobilization. At the same time, the government is preparing changes in the issue of women's pre-conscription training.
This is stated in the Plan of Priority Actions of the Government for 2024.
The Cabinet of Ministers plans to make changes to the Provisions on Pre-Conscript Training concerning:
involvement of women in pre-conscription training;
clarification of the categories of persons appointed by teachers;
features of pre-conscription training.
The government aims to develop the relevant changes by June 2024.
Women have the right to join the military register at their own will. However, representatives of some professions must undergo this procedure. In particular, it is about those:
who are fit for military service due to health and age (from 18 to 60 years old);
who graduated from professional (vocational-technical), professional pre-higher or higher education institutions and obtained a medical or pharmaceutical specialty.
It should be noted that this does not apply to pregnant women and women on maternity leave.
