Poor hospital treatment

In order to incur legal liability, there must be a cause-and-effect relationship between the performance of certain actions (inaction) by the medical worker and the occurrence of harm to the patient's health. A forensic medical examination establishes or denies the existence of such a connection.

Forensic medical examination is carried out in accordance with the decision of the person conducting the inquiry, investigator, prosecutor, judge, as well as by court order. Forensic psychiatric examination aims to establish the degree of severity and nature of suffering, the psychological state of the patient.

A claim for compensation for material and moral damage caused by poor-quality provision of medical services may be brought to a court in civil or administrative proceedings at the registered place of residence or stay of the person who was harmed or at the place where the harm was caused.
