How to register a baby?

Registration of the place of residence of a child under the age of 14 can be carried out exclusively at the place of registration of one of the parents. At the same time, the consent of the owner of the house is not required for the registration of the child.

Registration is carried out on the day of submission of documents by a person or his representative to the registration body (including through the center for providing administrative services).

When submitting an application by a person's representative, in addition to the specified documents, a document certifying the representative's identity and a document confirming the person's authority as a representative are additionally submitted. Registration of a person's place of residence at the request of a legal representative is carried out with the consent of other legal representatives.

In the event that the housing is under mortgage, the trust property is additionally submitted with the written consent of the respective mortgagee or trust owner as a way to ensure the fulfillment of obligations.

In the case of registering the place of residence of the parents at different addresses, the place of residence of a child who has not reached the age of 14 is registered together with one of the parents with the written consent of the other parent in the presence of the person accepting the application, or on the basis of the written consent of the second parent certified in the prescribed manner (except when the place of residence of the child is determined by a relevant court decision or a decision of the guardianship authority).

At the request of the parents or one of them, documents for registering the place of residence of a newborn child can be submitted through the state registry of civil status acts during the state registration of the child's birth. Registration of the place of residence of a newborn child can also be carried out through the social protection bodies of the population on the basis of the data indicated by the legal representative with whom the child lives permanently in the application for the appointment of assistance at the birth of the child.

During a person's personal visit to the registration body, an application for registration of the place of residence (stay) is formed by an official of the registration body using appropriate software and technical means and reproduced in paper form.
