Germany is planning to introduce sanctions for benefit recipients who miss appointments at job centers without a valid reason. Will I have problems with my benefits if I am unable to attend such appointments for a valid reason, such as illness?

Can I, as an unemployed woman registered with an employment center, receive state maternity benefits if I am not officially employed?
