The right of the people to decide on the territory of Ukraine

I read that issues of Ukraine's territorial integrity should be decided exclusively by the country's citizens after receiving certain security guarantees. Please explain what this process might look like in practice: should it be a referendum, or perhaps another form of expression of will? What guarantees are there that the decision will truly be made by the people, and not by individual politicians or international organizations?

Inviolability of Ukraine's territory and sovereignty

I read that Ukraine's representative to the UN emphasized: our country does not trade in territory or sovereignty, and there is no point in even hoping for that – this is a matter of principle. I am interested in whether any international negotiations or agreements could lead to a part of Ukraine's territory being officially recognized as non-Ukrainian? And if so, do I, as a citizen, have the right to do anything in such a situation, for example, appeal to a court or the authorities?

Can foreign statements affect the status of Crimea?

I read news that Donald Trump expressed his opinion on Crimea and its geographical location, as well as Crimea's connection to Ukraine via the isthmus. I am interested in whether similar statements by foreign politicians can have any real legal significance for determining the status of Crimea or for Ukraine's position in international courts? Are there risks that such statements could in any way affect our territorial integrity or the negotiation process?
