Cancellation of subvention for small schools

I just found out that the government has established new minimum requirements for the number of students in schools so that they can receive an educational subvention. It turns out that if our school has fewer students than required by these standards, the state will no longer provide funding. Please tell me, can such a school be completely closed because of this? And if not, what other options remain for small rural schools that do not fall under these requirements?
