According to Article 24 of the Law of Ukraine "On Mandatory State Pension Insurance", insurance experience is the period (term) during which a person is subject to mandatory state pension insurance and for which monthly insurance premiums in an amount no less than the minimum insurance premium have been paid .

The legislation provides for certain cases when employers, including natural persons - entrepreneurs, may not pay the corresponding contributions. This applies, in particular, to the periods:

  • the employee's stay on vacation without salary ("at his own expense");

  • suspension of the employment contract;

  • military service by mobilized workers.

In addition, from March 1, 2022 and for 12 months after the abolition of martial law, entrepreneurs are allowed not to pay insurance premiums for "themselves".

In addition, the employee's insurance experience includes:

  1. periods of downtime, taking into account that during this time the employer is obliged to pay insurance contributions in an amount not less than the minimum;

  2. part-time and combined work time.
