As an IDP who has lost a relative, can I receive state aid for burial?
So. To receive help, you need to contact any service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. During the martial law in Ukraine, burial assistance can be received by persons who organized the funeral process, taking into account the category of persons the deceased belonged to.
If an insured person has died, it is necessary to contact his employer, because financial assistance for burial is paid by the employer from social insurance funds.
In this case, the following documents must be submitted:
a document confirming the identity of the applicant;
application for payment of burial allowance;
an extract from the State Register of Civil Status Acts of citizens on death for receiving funeral assistance or a document confirming the fact of death.
The amount of the benefit is a two-month pension that the pensioner received at the time of death. If a deceased person who at the time of death did not reach retirement age, did not work, was not in the service, was not registered at the employment center, it is necessary to contact the local authorities at the last place of residence of the deceased. The size of the funeral allowance is set by the local self-government body, and it may be different in different regions. If an unemployed person has died, it is necessary to contact the employment center at the registered place of residence of the unemployed person.
Documents to be submitted in this case:
a document confirming the fact of the unemployed person's death (death certificate);
a document certifying the person who performed the burial (passport or other identity document).
Burial allowance in the event of the death of an unemployed person is paid to the persons who performed the funeral in the amount of the subsistence minimum.
