What is the maximum care allowance?

The amount of care allowance is calculated as the difference between three subsistence minimums for each family member and the average monthly total family income for the previous six months, but cannot be more than the subsistence minimum per person per month.

At the same time, the following are taken into account when calculating the amount of care allowance:

• the corresponding amounts of the subsistence minimum for each family member, determined by the Law of Ukraine "On the subsistence minimum" for persons who belong to the main social and demographic groups of the population;

• average monthly total family income - the average monthly income of all family members received by them during six months;

• six months, which are the two quarters preceding the month preceding the month of application for care allowance. In case of approval of a new size of the subsistence minimum, the care allowance is recalculated without the request of the recipient of the allowance. The social protection bodies of the population recalculate the previously assigned care allowance from the month of approval of the new amount of the subsistence minimum.
