What is TruCam?

TruCam is a speed measurement radar developed by specialists of the American space agency NASA. Traffic police patrol crews used it back in 2010, but in test mode. Since 2011, they have made a full profit. Then the use of radars was prohibited due to the lack of necessary permit documentation. But now this problem has been solved, and TruCam is approved for use in Ukraine.

Speeding cameras on Ukrainian roads began to be installed on October 8, 2018. Patrol units with TruCam laser radars monitor roads in difficult areas and in places of increased risk of road accidents. Appropriate road signs warn about photo and video recording.
