The current legislation of Ukraine provides for the possibility of receiving a pension for a deceased legal spouse. According to the Law of Ukraine "On Mandatory State Pension Insurance", this type of pension is called a survivor's pension.

The amount of such a pension is 50% of the pension according to the age of the deceased spouse.

Article 36 of the Law stipulates that such a pension can be assigned to disabled family members of the deceased who were dependent on him.

In order to receive a deceased husband's pension, the deceased's wife must:

1) was unable to work (if the wife (husband) is a person with a disability or has reached retirement age; if the husband (wife) of the deceased breadwinner does not work and is busy taking care of the child (children) of the deceased breadwinner until she (they) reach 8 years old);

2) was dependent on the deceased.
