Responsibility for the death of a child in the bathroom

I read that in Mykolaiv, a mother left her two-year-old son alone in the bathroom, and he drowned while she was sleeping in another room. After this, she was notified of suspicion of leaving a child in danger, which led to death. I am interested in whether the mother genuinely bears criminal responsibility in such a situation if she did not intend to harm the child but simply fell asleep, and whether in such cases the punishment is always specifically for leaving in danger?
