Can heirs immediately become members of the LLC?

Do I understand correctly that if a family member who owned a share in an LLC dies, the heirs do not automatically become members of this company? I am interested in what specific rights they receive immediately after the inheritance is processed, and from what moment they can participate in the company's management and vote at meetings? I am very afraid of losing my rights due to some legal formality.
