Punishment for treason during martial law

I read that a woman suspected of treason during martial law was detained in Odesa, and she faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property. I wonder, in what cases can life imprisonment actually be imposed for treason? Does this apply only to particularly grave acts, or does the law not give the court the right to determine a different punishment at all?
