How changes to the energy market will affect consumers

I read that a new law is currently being implemented to integrate energy markets with the EU, and it plans to update many electricity market rules, as well as introduce various new mechanisms and regulations. I am interested in whether these changes could affect tariffs for ordinary electricity consumers? That is, should one expect price increases due to these innovations, and could my rights or conditions regarding electricity supply change in any other way?
