Responsibility of a teenager and parents for recruitment

I read that teenagers can be recruited for illegal activities on social media, and the police warn of severe criminal liability for sabotage. If my child accidentally or carelessly gets involved in such activities via the Internet, what specific responsibility can they and we, as parents, bear? Is there a difference if the teenager is under 14 years old or older?
