Liability for chatbot actions in cases of mental disorders

I read about a situation where a person with a mental disorder communicated with ChatGPT for a long time, and relatives believe this may have affected their condition, leading to tragic events. If something similar happened here, could the creators of such chatbots be held legally responsible because they did not provide protection mechanisms for people with vulnerable psyches? How does this work in our courts?
