Automatic military registration for men at 18 years old

As I understand it, men who did not register for military service at 17 will now be automatically registered when they turn 18. I am interested in whether I personally need to contact anyone or submit anything if I missed this moment at 17, and what the consequences might be for me if I have already become a conscript automatically?
