Legality of using mediation in Ukraine

I've heard that mediation is becoming increasingly popular in conflict resolution, and even lectures with international experts are taking place in courts. Can I truly officially choose mediation instead of going to court, for example, in a dispute with an employer or a neighbor? What legal significance do decisions or agreements reached through mediation have in Ukraine – does the court recognize them, and are they binding on both parties?
