Fines for PDR violations via automatic recording: who is responsible?

I understand that if my car is caught on camera violating PDR, the fine might be issued to the person the car is registered to, or to the proper user if they are listed in the register. But what if another driver was behind the wheel, not me? As the owner, can I somehow appeal such a fine and prove that another driver committed the violation, not me personally?
