Legality of holding elections during martial law

I've read news discussing the possibility of holding elections even during the war, but this requires certain legislative changes. I'm interested: does the current law truly allow elections during martial law, or is it impossible without changes to the laws? How is this generally regulated, and who decides when and how these elections can be held? I would like to understand what everything depends on and whether Ukrainians can realistically expect elections in the near future if the situation does not stabilize.
