Liability for loss of a Google account due to hacking
I am increasingly hearing about cases where hackers break into Google accounts, gaining access to personal information, passwords, and even payment data. If my Google account, which stores a lot of personal and financial information, is suddenly compromised and attackers use this data (for example, debit funds, take out a loan, or steal other confidential information), who will be legally responsible for this? Do I have the opportunity to recover my losses — and who exactly should do this: Google or the attacker, if found?
