Have the admission rules changed in 2026?

I am currently finishing school and plan to apply to university, but I saw news that motivation letters for admission are being abolished, and the admission rules themselves will be rewritten. Is it already known what new admission campaign rules will apply in 2026, and how might this affect my choice and document preparation?

The Ministry of Education and Science is preparing a package of proposals for the Admission Procedure with an emphasis on transparency of conditions, support for defenders and residents of affected territories, digitalization of procedures, and bringing Ukrainian higher education closer to European standards in accordance with the Higher Education Development Strategy for 2022-2032. One of the key decisions is the rejection of motivational letters. The agency states that de facto these letters are no longer a selection tool. They also add that they were often written by commercial authors or AI. The Admission Procedure will be rewritten to make its structure and language clearer. What rules for the 2026 admission campaign have been approved by the Rada: * The Verkhovna Rada adopted draft law No. 13650 as a whole, which defines the format and rules of next year's admission campaign. * The NMT in 2026 will take place according to last year's model - within one day. There will also be additional testing sessions. * As in previous years, applicants will not take the State Final Attestation (DPA). * Applicants will take Ukrainian language, mathematics, history of Ukraine, and one subject of their choice: a foreign language, biology, geography, physics, chemistry, or Ukrainian literature. * All NMT results, starting from 2023, remain valid. They can be used for admission in 2026.
