Is it possible to achieve recalculation of a judge's pension?

07.12.2025 11:05 • Question

I have long heard that pensions for retired judges are calculated based on judicial remuneration, and there is often a question of recalculation. If the salaries or some components thereof change for active judges, it affects payments to retirees. But what if, for example, I, as a retired judge, receive a new certificate with a higher amount of remuneration, while the overall subsistence minimum has not changed and an official increase has not occurred, is it realistic for me to demand a recalculation of my pension? That is, are there grounds for increasing the lifetime payment if there have been no regulatory changes in the remuneration of active judges?
