Is a court decision required for the recognition of an adoption from Poland?

I have read that a Ukrainian court recognized a Polish court's decision on the adoption of a child, and now this child has legal status in Ukraine. Please tell me, if I or someone I know adopts a child in Poland, is it mandatory to go through a Ukrainian court for this decision to be valid in Ukraine? Is there a simpler way to get such recognition?
