Admission of lawyers to practice after a conviction

05.12.2025 21:25 • Question

I read about a case of a British lawyer who, after two drug-related arrests, had his right to practice restored due to sincere remorse and rehabilitation. But if in our country a lawyer is convicted for drug possession (even a suspended sentence), does he have a chance to be reinstated in the profession after a few years if he shows remorse and proves he has changed? Is this considered an absolute ban, or is there some way to return to the practice of law?
