According to Article 6 of the Law of Ukraine "On the High Anti-Corruption Court", the head of the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court is elected in the manner and exercises powers provided for by the Law of Ukraine "On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges".

According to Article 31 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges", the head of the appellate chamber:

1) exercises the powers provided for in paragraphs 1-3 of part six of this Article; 2) represents the appellate chamber on matters of its activity before state authorities, local self-government bodies, individuals, and legal entities; 3) informs the meeting of judges of the higher specialized court and the Supreme Court about the results of the generalization of judicial practice; 4) facilitates the fulfillment of requirements for maintaining the qualifications of the chamber's judges and improving their professional level; 5) controls the efficiency of the independent structural unit that provides organizational support for the appellate chamber's work, submits proposals for the appointment of the head of this unit and approves their dismissal, submits proposals for incentives or disciplinary action against them in accordance with the law, approves the draft regulation on such a structural unit and amendments to this regulation; 6) approves the draft budget of the higher specialized court regarding the financing of the appellate chamber's activities, and also approves the use of budget funds allocated for the maintenance of the appellate chamber; 7) notifies the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine and the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine, as well as via the judicial web portal, about vacant judicial positions in the court within a three-day period from the date of their creation; 8) exercises other powers defined by law.
