The use of AI as an auxiliary tool for a judge is enshrined in the new version of the Code of Judicial Ethics of Ukraine (Art. 16), which states that the use of AI technologies is permissible if it does not affect independence and impartiality, does not concern the assessment of evidence and the decision-making process, and does not violate legislation. Ukraine can and probably should implement AI in a limited capacity — as a supporting tool, not as a replacement for a judge. Considering the advantages (speed, accessibility, optimization), the implementation of AI seems justified — but with conditions: clear legislative and ethical regulation, guarantees of transparency, data protection, and limiting the role of AI to only an auxiliary, not a decisive one, are needed. This must be a gradual, controlled process.
