Child benefit is a payment received by parents, guardians, carers or the children themselves.

They include:

• payments upon the birth of a child,

• assistance to large families,

• state alimony,

• assistance to single mothers,

• cash payments to orphans,

• assistance to children with disabilities.

For example, "childbirth allowance" in 2023 is 41,280 UAH. Payment is made as follows:

• UAH 10,320 - immediately;

• UAH 860/month - for 36 months.

The above payments may be terminated in the following cases:

1. deprivation of the recipient of parental rights;

2. removal of the child from the beneficiary without deprivation of parental rights;

3. temporary placement of a child for full state maintenance;

4. termination of guardianship or release of the guardian from his powers in relation to a specific child;
