The rules for passing the BZVP are prescribed in the Law of Ukraine "On Military Duty and Military Service".
According to the law, the following categories are exempt from basic military training:
minors (persons under 18 years of age);
persons recognized as unfit due to health conditions;
persons who have completed military service;
persons who served in the army of another state before acquiring Ukrainian citizenship.
