"Black" grain is grain that traders bought from farmers for cash and exported abroad. There are two problems with this: if the grain is bought with cash, then no taxes have been paid in the process of its production. The second problem is that such grain is often sold through fictitious one-day firms. These firms subsequently do not return to Ukraine the currency proceeds from the sale of grain.
