What year was the adoption of the Constitution?

On June 28, 1996, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted and put into effect the Constitution of Ukraine, which became the fundamental document defining the political system, the rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as the principles of the functioning of the state.
