Lithuania does not grant refugee status to persons temporarily displaced from Ukraine, but instead issues a temporary residence permit in Lithuania for humanitarian reasons. Its validity period is 1 year. This certificate provides the following guarantees: the right to education, health insurance, the right to permanent residence for a period of 1 year with a possible extension of up to 3 years, access to the labor market, social assistance.

To obtain a residence permit, you need to register at one of the registration centers in Lithuania. At the same time, Ukrainian immigrants and their families who do not have a valid foreign passport will be issued a certificate of foreign registration until their legal situation is resolved.
