Are there restrictions on the sale of alcohol and tobacco near educational institutions?

The Law of Ukraine "On State Regulation of the Production and Circulation of Ethyl Alcohol, Alcohol Distillates, Alcoholic Beverages, Tobacco Products, Liquids Used in Electronic Cigarettes, and Fuel" prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages in educational and educational institutions and the sale of alcohol in premises and on territories of educational institutions. The law does not prohibit the sale of alcoholic beverages near educational institutions, if the sellers are located outside them.

However, there are restrictions on the sale of beer, alcoholic and low-alcohol drinks, and table wines in unspecified trade places and during mass events. Thus, local self-government bodies can influence the sale of alcoholic beverages by issuing permits for the placement of small architectural forms and the opening of specialized establishments. Local self-government bodies can also make decisions aimed at banning the sale of alcoholic beverages at a certain distance from educational institutions. But it should not be forgotten that it is not allowed to issue legal acts of local self-government bodies, which establish restrictions not foreseen by law regarding the circulation of certain types of goods on the territory of the relevant administrative-territorial units.
