Unemployment benefits are provided to citizens of Ukraine who have received the status of unemployed and are assigned by employment centers from the eighth day after the registration of the unemployed person based on his personal application of the prescribed form. During martial law, unemployment benefits are granted from the first day of unemployment status.
The applicant can submit an application for assistance by filling out an application for receiving services online on the Diya Portal. When staying in the temporarily occupied territory or in the territory where hostilities are taking place, the status of unemployed can be acquired through the Action Portal (if a qualified electronic signature is available), the website of the State Employment Service https://www.dcz.gov.ua/ (chapter "Registration of the unemployed") or chatbot (Telegram channel or Viber channel "State Employment Service").
People who: can get the status of unemployed
officially employed, but lost their jobs due to the war or worked in temporarily occupied territories;
capable of working before the appointment of a pension, have lost their jobs and are ready to resume their activities;
persons with disabilities who have not reached retirement age receive a disability pension or social assistance;
Regardless of the chosen application method, you must provide the following documents:
an identity document (domestic/foreign passport, ID card);
a document certifying the place of registration (registration);
registration number of the taxpayer's registration card;
if available - employment book (civil law contract or document on termination of the last type of employment);
if available - a document about education or a duplicate;
if available – a certificate of registration of an IDP;
if available - military registration documents.
The documents are reviewed and the application approved within 7 days.
