What are the rights of refugees in the EU?
Refugee status is an individual right in EU countries, which is granted after a special administrative and legal process that determines whether a person has a reasonable risk of being persecuted.
Rights granted upon receiving refugee status:
the right to medical assistance;
access to education for children and adolescents;
access to the labor market (according to the policy of the EU countries on the labor market);
the right to social and household services;
the right to marry;
right of residence for a period of up to 3 years with the possibility of extension for another 2 years;
the right to monthly cash assistance.
