First of all, to become a prosecutor, you need to get a higher legal education. After that, the candidate must pass the competition, the scores of which determine whether this person can hold the position of prosecutor.
A citizen of Ukraine who has a higher legal education and speaks the state language in accordance with the level determined by the National Commission for State Language Standards can be appointed as a prosecutor of the district prosecutor's office based on the selection results.
A citizen of Ukraine who has a higher legal education, experience in the field of law for at least three years and speaks the state language can be appointed as a prosecutor of the regional prosecutor's office.
A citizen of Ukraine who has a higher legal education, at least five years of work experience in the field of law and speaks the state language can be appointed as a prosecutor of the General Prosecutor's Office. These requirements do not apply to prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
The Prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office may be appointed by a person who has a higher legal education, has worked in the field of law for at least five years and speaks the state language.
